Vintage by default is eco-friendly. Vintage is not new, but it is used clothing. We are committed to our environment by stressing the importance of recycling, using little or no energy resources. Bio-degradable products are also used in our cleaning processes. In 2007, Some Like it Vintage expanded into a private line of clothing simply called 'Creative Vintage'. This is re-designing and re-constructing vintage garments to extend them a second life. Reconstruction involves the re-working of a vintage garment (that was otherwise not wearable) to make it once again wearable. Putting an urban and modern feel to a vintage garment while maintaining it's history is another way to reduce waste. Items are carefully chosen to incorporate function, practicality, wearability -- and of course high style. The quality of vintage clothing often surpasses anything made today and not only is it environmentally friendly, it is a fun and unique way to shop! Ending domestic violence through education and support programs is a cause we are very passionate about here at Some Like it Vintage. Proudly donating 10% of all sales to local women's shelters, your purchases are greatly appreciated. 1 in 3 women at some point in their lives, will be abused. Help educate and stop domestic violence against women and their children. Thank you. FLAT RATE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE (standard surface shipping). As part of the Google DC Talks series, Google's Washington office hosted a special book talk with Chris Anderson, Editor in Chief of Wired Magazine and best-selling author of "The Long Tail." In his new book "Free: The Future of a Radical Price," Anderson makes the provocative case that in many instances businesses can profit more from giving things away than they can by charging for them. This event took place on July 7, 2009 at Google's offices in Washington, DC |

Google Tech Talk April 14, 2010 ABSTRACT Presented by Erich W. Gunther. The smart grid is a big topic these days, but before there was a smart grid newspaper headline, the utilities have been experimenting with TCP/IP in the backend networks for a while now. Erich Gunther of enernex (www.enernex.com) will present a reference model and concept of network operations for the power industry including how Internet Protocols fit in that space. Along the way he will touch on what has worked, what hasn't and some of the security issues along the way. Erich W. Gunther is the co-founder, chairman and chief technology officer for EnerNex Corporation - an electric power research, engineering, and consulting firm - located in Knoxville Tennessee. With 30 years of experience in the electric power industry, Erich is no stranger to smart grid - he has been involved in defining what smart grid is before the term itself was coined. |

Rate or Comment! This was a song I wrote for my friends JJ and Amber, and sang it at their rehearsal dinner, and below is the disclaimer I read before starting the song. Watch to the end! 1. When I bought this Ukulele, JJ laughed and said "that's probably the one instrument that won't get you a chick". I told him to watch what he says, or I just might incorporate it into my wedding speech. Moral of this story, don't make fun of my impulse buying, or I will make you pay for it. 2. There is not one strand of DNA in my body that can hold a tune. I have the worst voice in this room, and I am not afraid to admit it. With that said, this will be more embarrassing for me, than it will be for you. 3. I am not that good of a Ukulele player. You will hear the same 3 chords over and over and over again, so get over it. 4. I know I am singing with a bit of a "twang". I am doing this because it helps to make some of the words rhyme easier. I am NOT doing this because I think it sounds good. 5. There might be a word or two, maybe even a phrase or two, that might be frowned upon. I apologize in advance, and hope I do not offend anyone....besides JJ of course. 6. The Ukulele originated in Hawaii, and I would like to dedicate this song to the 2350 deaths that occurred on December 7th, 1941 in the Attach of Pearl Harbor. *additional information* 1. the groom is part Japanese 2. two of his groomsmen were females 3. he is one of the hairiest guys I have ever met!! A poem written and performed by me. Come and subscribe.. More silly things to come :) Here the actual poem. The spoon Yesterday afternoon I touched this spoon This lovely silver shiny thing This will replace my wedding ring I will marry you spoon We will have our own place soon Whenever you want to enter my mouth just come and say And if we must We can do it every day I will share my cerial with you at any time Spoon every second you are in me I feel so fine. I don't need no knife no fork It is you Spoon it is you that I need in my room. YOu are soo soft so smooth and round Oh spoon I love your beautiful sound I might be upside down. But not if I turn you around. Spoon I can see my love reflections Spoon. It is you that gives me all these erections. Spoon you can rest on my nose. Oh Spoon you are better than a rose. So spoon give me a sign. Will I be yours and you be mine I will lick the icecream from your bottom spoon. We will go on holiday from May till June. My heart is sold, I will never let go from you I love you spoon, there is so much you can do. |

This August, all of us kids and our close relatives got together to throw a special celebration for our parents. We held it in the bank where they met, which is now a Tea Room. We had a little program for them which included this poem which I'm reading. Also provided handouts for everyone. The poem is about special memories we have of them and how they lived their life together. Here's The Poem: 60th Wedding Anniversary Roy and Jonnie Elliott Well, here we are back where your lives and all us started Where the bank vault became a gleam in your eyes Happy memories --- we mostly say good and bad This, almost all good, but some trials too Remember Mom and Dad as cashier and teller And Larkhall Street and all our neighbors Remember hot dogs to the drama of Bonanza And Wood fires in our chimney Sleds loaded with wood for our fires Coming back to Larkhall Card club parties at Larkhall Many gardens and mom canning Bringing new Liz back to Larkhall Mom canning veggies from our garden Making canned tomatoes and juices Dad cutting squash for Thanksgiving Mom's early rising for Thanksgiving baking We count Sunday dinners at Ursula's & Jim's And dinners at Frank & Elsa's Hair cuts using bowls at Ursula's Done to the smell of butter making Followed by the smell of strawberry shortcake So many family reunions The Drive to Linley Reunions on the Lake The Trip to Canton and Cousin Hank's Many times wonderful drives to Canada To spend summers on the Lahti Long Lake We care for each other <b>...</b> |

This is another prime example of why a professional videographer is essential for your wedding day. With only a photographer, you would have a few great pictures of the toast, but not the ability to relive the surprise poem / toast given by friends & family. Here is Preston & Jodi's surprise toast called the "Ode To Groad" from their November 2008 wedding. |

Like an idiot, I didn't clean the lens on the camera before the wedding... hence all the salt caked before the picture! Of all days to film with a shitty lens! Kudos to me!! Either side of the Vows there happened to be a ceremony of marriage. A civil ceremony in fact. Not civil as in pleasant, but civil as in there were no imaginary gods present. We had a good time. Now we're married, day to day life kinda resembles that television sitcom... ummmm, what's it called? Everybody Loves Raymond. A speech I gave for my Brother who has been that silent inspiration in my life. Hope you enjoy it and may the sibling rivalry never cease for you :) Here is the transcript for the poem I recited in the video: My Brothers name is Jeremy, His new wifes name is Salome. Ive known him ever since I was born, 21years of toil and scorn. He leaves dishes for me to wash, Stay with him, if you want the be-a-maid course. His room is messy, with underwear all around You would think a tornado and tsunami, turned it upside down. I asked my mum when I was eight How will kor get married, he farts in his bed! I now am twenty-one and I still sometimes wonder, When his wife sleeps with him, will she smell the odour? I didnt speak to my brother, for 3/4s of my life. Five years our generation gap, how to keep the brotherhood alive? When I enter his room to take his really cool things, He would scream, wrestle and fight, and he always wins. Many use to ask, Why he so fat, you so skinny? And I used to tell, he steals my food and hes always hungry. Looking back, 21 years of brotherhood, it feels really really good; The fights we had, the things we never shared It was all priceless, although we had buises. What I didnt tell you, when we used to not speak, Was that youre funny youre clever, with great talent in music. You were my role model in many many things, That elder brother that inspired and gave me dreams. Im so terribly happy, Im sure youll make a great husband for the one and only Salome <b>...</b> |

web.me.com www.youtube.com www.youtube.com Uplifting Here is the link to the youtube with his speech. This youtube is on my joy and thoughts about his win and so many homeless people struggling to hang on that need a break as well. Mickey could easily have been sitting on a bench in a park like so many I saw yesterday and he thanks the Santa Monica Police Dept for giving him a place to sleep 10 years ago. I was very happy beyond happy Mickey Rourke won the best actor for the Spirit awards and The Wrestler won best picture. Tomorrow night I want him to win The Oscars and he has had enough practice to make a speech that can be shown in it's entirety on national tv! I was in Tompkins Square Park today and it look like a bus depot for lost souls. I thought of Mickey Rourke and speaking with some of the men on the benches I know some are magical souls that have lost their way. So as we celebrate Mickey I want to remember people like Mickey Rourke that lost their way. At the bottom of this text is the link to my two poems. I was upset about something and I called the local precinct and I can't express in words how much the voice on the other end in his New York talk comforted me. After talking with him I felt better. I wrote two poems about the park. One an idealistic poem that the photos I show you represent. The park has been fenced which is sad and they other poem is about broken dreams. I sat in the park when I wrote these poems and drew a tree. I also thought of an NYPD <b>...</b> |

I would hate to disappoint them with this comparison, but they're sort of a Blonde Redhead esque band, but they're really really awesome people, they've got great music, a great drummer." -- Jason, Death Cab For Cutie Drummer Raphael Mura, guitarist Marion Andrau (who both take lead vocal duties) and bassist/backing vocalist JB Ganivet return in the latter half of 2008 with 'Sticks and Stones', a new album that smoothes over the jagged edges of their debut, imbuing upon them a strong melodic drive, without losing a trace of the band's trademark integrity. Normn Plaine is a former working musician / comedian who had performed under various names before settling down to a responsible position in Corporate America. (Regular hours, predicatable income, et al'.) {...He also grew tired of having to pay 'cash-up-front' for Dentists and Doctors to see and fix him.} He has relished his Normal and Plain life via a "regular job", but as this song suggests, he may soon be performing on a street corner near you... and in that case, he looks more like the blond guy getting shipped to 'Fra-jee-lay'. Live performance of "Im Treibhaus" by Amadea (Mezzo-Soprano) with Diana Wartenberg (Viola) and Uwe Streibel (Piano). Adaptation for Mezzo-Soprano, Viola and Piano written by Amadea. Franziskushof - Pfingsten 2007. In May of 1849 the German State Revolution was crushed by troops from Prussia and Saxon. Richard Wagner, who had played a minor role in the Revolution, was forced into exile -- presumably for his writing of some manifestos, through which he publicly voted for the unification of the German States. He was officially deported by the Police on May 16, 1849 -- he was so to speak exactly like a "wanted man" in our modern times. Here is an English translation of the official police description of Richard Wagner: "Wagner is 37-38 years old, middle stature, has brown hair and wears glasses." Wagner and Minna fled together from Dresden to Jena (for 6 hours) and finally into Switzerland. In 1852 Richard Wagner met Otto and Mathilda Wesendonck. Otto was a devoted friend of Wagner. He even allowed Wagner to live in a small cottage on his estate from 1852-1858. Here in the little cottage, which he called "Asyl," Richard Wagner wrote such works as "Tristan und Isolde," the complete libretto to "Der Ring des Nibelungen," "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg," and the five orchestral songs known as the "Wesendonck Lieder." His love for Mathilde Wesendonck must have been one of his main sources of inspiration for all of these works. She was beautiful, gentle, feminine, intellegent and <b>...</b> |

South Florida As if wind in the sea oats scattering shorebirds was all the weather report needed, the sanderlings beat a retreat their shadows seem unprepared for. So many, they wick light from a part of the sky. Some would tell you this is nothing, saying birds along the coast blocked out the sun in most months during migrations. Today, rain scours a shoreline 27.19° North and Longitude 80.24° West, a beach emptied of all but these gray-winged doves and a lone black skimmer bent on fishing the tidewaters. I may as well not be here. I may as well be from Ohio, lucky for a few good years of work before vanishing. Stick around, and you have to become one of those aerialists balancing pyramids of spinning pie-plates, going from hurricane to fire, layoff to foreclosure, on a unicycle. I'm here, cupping a match to light something as rain lets up, mid-April a profound drenching for hours then an unconditional glow beading on mangrove leaves. I want you to love this place as I do, snowbird-foreigner that you are, no business being here whatsoever, and walk back toward A1A and whatever wheeled monstrosity has carried you. I want you to feel how homeless we are, banks or no banks. Maybe you brought a good cigar but the damnable thing got doused in your pocket, won't light, then catches. This isn't about being or becoming a better man or woman. Better than what? Sure, lives are like smoke. But lives are a whole other order of magnitude altogether. Circuses of suffering and joy <b>...</b> |

Got called out by Natho www.youtube.com calling out my dude Bez www.youtube.com ..using this beat www.youtube.com Lyrics: I'm a strong person, so I embrace the streets/ Acknowledge everything that it gave to me/ The street smarts, the heart, and it teaches you honor / I feel so blessed, dispite all the mess, baptisted in tap water / Full of leeches and piranhas / sharks and gators, and haters / That wanna kill your dreams of lamping out on the beaches of bahamas / Privileged kids of immigrants, come home from school, then teach their fathers / I wanna thank the O.Gs that told me / to follow dreams, instead of selling drugs like he did and follow cream/ Be yourself, a lot of boys wanna be men for halloween / And Bloods told me to watch my back / Crips taught me how criminals act / This one guy we called scarface, showed me how much damage you can do with a blade / And i didnt learn about aids from a health teacher / But from a good dude that was inflicted with the bug, now his insides is burning with ether/ I hold all of the valuable lessons that you teached us/ Now, im a street scholar, holla at my disciples and tell my apprentice to pay attention/ Of detectives, sketching/ portraits of deceptions/ If they cant put you in a box like Pac, they'll put you in a box to rot/ Students of the school of hard knocks, in a permanent detention/ Did I mention/ Im a legend/ Im an engine / for a revolution that is pending/ All I need is followers, I know this struggle is never ending <b>...</b> |

One of my many insomniac poems:Keeping the Strange Hours 07/03/08 Ive been up too late again In the too long night, The starving cats do scream, The street sweeper trucks go by. Insular slumming college kids shuffle doublestep, The homeless lie still beneath awnings, Their angles indistinguishable from debris. Phantom cars speed with phantom cargoes, Beginner truckers trying to fill quotas. The junior cop With the short ticket And the long patrol, For probably nothing, Or at most a drunk Not wise enough to wait enough. Dawns a tardy promise, Rumored at horizon, The mind builds hallucinations Of the weirdness that doesnt really happen. I write Or else no memories stick, To parse night from night, Within a life that seems a procession Of these infinite nights. |

An entry from his A BIG BOOK OF MY OWN, Stanley Pacion recites a poem whose chief conceit involves lost love, plus the ensuing sense of despair and hopelessness when one losses in love. Words/text for all poems, plus other images and poems at stanley.pacion.googlepages.com For this poem .......... Original BLOG LISTING 27 August 2008. stanleypacion.blogspot.com KIDNAPPED I dreamed that you were pulled From the bridal bed and out of the house screaming. You were carried off through the pathless desert. It was night with little moon; Darkness hid the cacti, Making them all the more dangerous to life and limb. The temperature had dropped to freezing in the Sonora. I could hear you call my name. I had been cheated at the moment when promise of life Happiest, the fulfillment of holy, holy prophecy. I had been promised children, One to be monarch of new Golden Age, A child to whom future ages might do homage. I did not hesitate, but marshaled my forces I frantically shouted with all my might 'Help!' I was hoping to rescue you, My beautiful wife, the love of my life. Still perfumed and boutonnière, Heady with the day's excitement, Like some native sorcerer, a shaman Whose vision had been magically enhanced Through ritual drink, I could see in the darkness. I ran headlong, inner light to guide me. I chased the phantom that possessed you. Stripped is a performance art show by Janet Kuypers live in Chicago. This 06/07/05 show contained a series of her poems (all political in nature) with artwork displayed to coincide with her readings, to portray her own artwork as well. The artwork display in this show is different from her other pieces of art normally displayed for her performance art shows, because on the left of images are the title of the writing the image pertains to, and there is also a larger white space below the title to the left of the image. This is because for a change of pace, Janet Kuypers decided to actually sit directly in the projected image area for her show, This mean that she was really well-lit (by the projector, she even had to wear sunglasses for the show because of the light shining on her), and she was right next to her artwork as it was presented during her show. This film is of live video recorded from that performance. This is the poem that was used in her show: Key To Survival "the poem of j" I Have you ever seen someone who has a flock of people around them and that someone is just naturally talking but people are attracted to them like moths to a flame people there are like sun tanning high-school girls facing this person's bright light, wanting to soak them all in and hoping they're more beautiful for it You see these people, everyone smiling, circled around this special someone it's like an animal magnetism you can't help but try to nudge in, to hear their words to try to <b>...</b> |

(June 12, 2010) Stanford's Baccalaureate Celebration is a multi-faith service. Keynote speaker Eboo Patel delivered his hope that graduates have one person in their lives who is a "little bit crazy." More than 25000 family members and friends gathered for Stanford's 119th Commencement Weekend. Among the highlights on Saturday were a Baccalaureate address by Eboo Patel, executive director of the Interfaith Youth Core and the Class Day Lecture by Philosophy Professor Debra Satz. On Sunday, family members and friends will be in Stanford Memorial Stadium to cheer on the class of 2010 as the university awards 1722 bachelor's degrees; 2100 master's degrees; and 980 doctoral degrees. In 1996, legendary film actor and producer, Kirk Douglas, suffered a stroke that greatly affected his speech. He was very frightened. He was very depressed. He was very concerned about his future. Finally he just made some decisions and I think part of those decisions were I can still write books. He's written two books since the stroke, My Stroke of Luck and Let's Face It. Both of which talk about, number one, speech therapy and the importance it has had in his recovery and secondly, talks about how he has gone forward after his stroke and the things that he has done. He inspires people tremendously that way and then also he was in a movie called Diamonds and he did a great job. And he talked about speech pathology services in Diamonds and showed the kind of exercises that he was doing. He was very, very complimentary about speech pathologists and what they had done for him. |

The Authors@Google program welcomed Jean Hanff Korelitz to Google's New York office to read from and discuss her book, "Admission". "'The flight from Newark to Hartford,' begins "Admission," 'took no more than fifty-eight minutes, but she still managed to get her heart broken three times.' No lovesick youth, this is the voice of a college admissions officer at the center of this intricately plotted novel. While most Americans are preoccupied with tax season, millions of others carry another burden?college acceptance letters. (Fat or thin?) An engaging read, not yet another stereotypical look at crazed applicants, this novel provides distraction while awaiting the mail delivery. It allows students (and parents) to feel that the people making decisions are fallible humans, and it challenges readers to grasp the importance of what we admit to ourselves." - Chicago Tribune This event took place on June 16, 2009. |

web.me.com www.youtube.com www.youtube.com Uplifting Here is the link to the youtube with his speech.

**NEED SUBSCRIPTIONS, Rate, Comment, PLEASE ** WORDS & LINKS HERE: From an original poetic entry in his collected verse and prose, entitled, A BIG BOOK OF MY OWN, Stanley Pacion recites a poem of love and loss, the night a phantom abducts his bride and forever ruins his chance of finding happiness in life. stanley.pacion.googlepages.com contains words/text for all poems, plus other images and poems. "When a child I played, entertained myself with crystal sets, later I became a ham radio operator. The fact that I now have an audience of several thousands and growing, that this audience has become increasingly world-wide, and that it hears and sees me while I read my lyric and prose is nothing short of astounding. I love my YouTube!" (June 12, 2010) Stanford's Baccalaureate Celebration is a multi-faith service. |

Can you hear what the soldier and their families have to say? Find a way to take some action to show the soldiers that your signage is more than a popular, yet hallow statement? web.me.com www.youtube.com www.youtube.com Uplifting Here is the link to the youtube with his speech.

Acoustic version of Underground Railroads B-Side track "Homeless Towns" ORDER 'STICKS AND STONES' SINGLE @ www.onelittleshop.com PRE-ORDER ALBUM @ www.onelittleshop.com [29/9/08] Formed five years ago in Paris, Underground Railroad released their debut album 'Twisted Trees' on One Little Indian in the summer of last year -- a ferocious squall of a record crystallising the band's love for post-punk and New York's No Wave scene, it won them a passionate following through its wholly uncompromising nature. "Dark French post-rock that sounds like Pixies covering 'Psychocandy'" -- NME "There's this band called Underground Railroad who I think are from Paris but I believe they live here in the UK now. Recorded in Seattle at the dawn of 2008 with renowned producer John Goodmanson at its helm (Death Cab For Cutie, Blood Brothers, Sleater Kinney and Blonde Redhead), it sees Underground Railroad gain maturity without sacrificing <b>...</b> |
