Shawn Welling and his team had the opportunity to perform halfway around the world. On the 27th of October, 2009, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khallfa Al Thani the Emir of The State of Qatar, RasGas company inaugurated its sixth liquefied natural gas (LNG) train in front of an audience of 1200 VIPs. The inauguration ceremony included performances by dancers from several countries, including Houstons Planet Funk. The urban dance team founded by Shawn Welling performed a time line high-energy dance piece of traditional American dances. Including a hip-hop piece. Welling choreographed 10 children ranging in ages from eight to 15 to perform a montage of historic American dance genres. Planet Funk had two weeks to perfect and demonstrate five decades of American dance styles, starting with swing and progressing to an Elvis rock tribute, the 60s, disco, a Michael Jackson tribute and, finally, hip-hop, but had to keep it within the traditional Muslim cultures social mores. Planet Funk has performed in energized, athletic dancing around the world and on TC shows such as Good Morning America and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Ive performed on Oprah, Good Morning America and all over the country, but I consider this trip as the highlight of my career, says Welling. Ive never imagined a place as welcoming, traditional and yet modern and filled with opportunity as Qatar. Planet Funk arrived in the beautiful city of Qatar five days before the performance. I visited the Middle Eastern nation of Qatar, which is an Islamic state and one of the wealthiest nations in the world. Much of the London Stock Exchange has been bought by Qatari money obtained through its rich gas reserves. It is estimated that in 4 years time, Qatari people could be the richest in the world. And its recently declared by Transparency International as the least corrupt nation in the Middle East. But what does this mean? The nation is a peninsula from Saudi Arabia. A small land mass consisting predominantly of uninhabited desert ** for camels and extreme *. Surrounded by the warm Indian Ocean, theres no source of all revenue for Qataris and an important part of their historical culture, along with the religion of Islam as these artifacts from the Islamic Museum in Doha show. Sukkahs are lively places of socializing trade and music, and you can call it that. Since Roman Times, Qatar has acquired all its revenue from pearl, fishing and dried fish. A warm seas a home to a numerous variety of marine mouth, all of which are available at market. Along with live birds, which are kept as pets, the world being of animal is by no means a priority for this culture. Construction of the world's largest gas to liquids (GTL) plant, Pearl GTL in Qatar, is a major step towards meeting the world's growing demand for cleaner energy. Discover the project and the people involved The plant, a joint development by Qatar Petroleum and Shell, will process about three billion barrels-of-oil-equivalent over its lifetime from the world's largest single non-associated gas field, the North Field, which stretches from Qatar's coast out into the Gulf. The North Field contains more than 900 trillion cubic feet of gas, about 15% of worldwide gas resources.* Pearl GTL will produce cleaner-burning diesel and kerosene, base oils for top-tier lubricants, a chemical feedstock called naphtha, which is used to make plastics, and normal paraffin, which is used to produce detergents. It will produce enough fuel to fill over 160000 cars a day and enough synthetic base oil each year to make lubricants for more than 225 million cars.

The remnants of Qatars northward parts are visible all around the bustling modern city of Doha. Commercial western culture is embraced. You can find Venetian gondolas alongside the traditional whirling dervishes in this shopping mall. The nation's extreme wealth and power is entirely due to their ability ...
