Max Lucado’s Fearless Review

Monday, October 4th, 2010

We all have to face fears. Sometimes we are scared of slipping and usually we are most scared of the embarrassment that may follow. There is a wide spectrum of things that can ignite our fears; there are things such as creepy spiders.. and then there are also issues such as inadequacy or the fear of death.

Author and Pastor Max Lucado helps us deal with these issues with his heartwarming book: Fearless. He does this by highlighting scriptures that all address fear and also through the application of real-life stories and examples that either he or people he has known have experienced. While his book offers encouragement, on the other hand it also provides strength and begins the healing process from our run-ins with previous occurrences that started and developed our fears. He tells us to always keep our faith in God and to always trust in Him. Structurally, this book is divided into chapters that deal with fears that we have most likely all faced at one point or another. For example, he covers the fears of: death, violence, protecting family, disappointing God, and even the fear of whether or not God exists. He discusses many types of fear, but most importantly, how to live life without fear—fearlessly. After showing one of those fears, he then helps you to unravel ways that should be able to release you of those fears and that will also allow you to go along the path that God has originally intended which is freedom. I think that the message within the book is that by admitting our fears to God and by facing them, we will then be able to face new circumstances with pure faith.

Even if you can’t pinpoint any of your fears, Fearless by Max Lucado will prove to be a breath of fresh air, and strengthen your faith and further your relationship with God. Lucado hope to teach us to be fearless in our relationship with God.

Max Lucado Fear Not Book

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

Known throughout the world for his thought-provoking insight and reassuring advice, Max Lucado provides readers with another life changing resource with his new book Fear Not.

Although the book is relatively short, it offers several inspirational quotes from both the Bible and Lucado’s previous works that will help readers overcome the fears that hamper everyday life.

The Fear Not Promise Book is a complement to his previous book Fearless. This book is packed with truth to encourage readers to overcome any fear in their life.

The book is divided up into six different sections: God is with you, God provides and guides, God is never surprised, God is in control, God cares about you, and God loves and forgives.

Each section focuses on the common areas of life and provides personal insight into how to overcome these fears. On each page, there are several verses of Scripture that support Lucado’s advice and show readers that God not only understands our fears, but is always able to overcome them.

One of the most striking passages in Fear Not can be found on page 16. Lucado promises readers that “You will never go where God is not. You may be transferred, enlisted, commissioned, reassigned or hospitalized, but – brand this truth on your heart- you can never go where God is not.”

This simple yet profound idea offered me a great deal of personal comfort and satisfaction as it is often easy to forget that God is always with us. With everything that is seemingly going wrong in today’s world, it is easy for one to worry about their future.

But Lacado’s book shows us that in the greatest times of trouble, God does his very best work.

Fear Not by Max Lucado encourages readers to trust in God’s promise to take care of us and help us overcome whatever life throws our way. Its small size allows for one to carry it wherever they go and its simple layout lets readers pick it up and receive God’s comfort at any time.

This book is a must have for anyone looking for help in today’s harsh world.
