Love Thomas – celebrate with him. We got this book for a friend and we also got the train set “birthday Thomas” to go with it!!

Good book….was a tiny bit bent when arrived, but I believe that was done by the mailman bending it to fit it in the mailbox. Satisfied. Quick delivery.

So many horoscope, sun sign, moon sign, etc… books are available today, but I’ve found Theresa Cheung’s Encyclopedia of Birthdays to be succinct, informative and accurate. Each birth day has 2 pages devoted to the makeup of an individual born on that date. There is helpful info, encouragement and various sources used such as tarot cards, astrology and numerology. There is nothing written that is uncomfortable. Shared it with the family and we enjoyed learning about each other.

The birthday book contains beautiful works from the Metropolitan Museaum of Art on every other page, opposite six dated boxes to write in birthdays. However, the date boxes also contain the birthdays of artists, leaving a smaller space to write. I thought the date boxes would be blank. It is a beautiful book, however.

This is the second book in this growing series by Ms. Becker & Ms. MacDonald Denton. The same two characters, (Grumpy) Bear and (Happy-Go-Lucky) Mouse return in their respective roles. This time, Mouse is trying to throw a party for Bear. As expected, Bear doesn’t like birthday parties, especially his own. The story unfolds with Bear doing everything in his power to thwart Mouse’s attempts to throw a party for Bear. Mouse is, as usual, ignoring Bear’s protests, and does his usual bits to bring us a birthday party for Bear.

The story is cute. Maybe not as perfect as A Visitor for Bear, but still very good. Our 4.5 year old goes from loving these stories to not wanting to have anything to do with them. Maybe that’s because he demanded I read these books to him every night for weeks and weeks when we first got each story.

What’s nice is that despite being read over and over, the jokes still bring out laughs from both of us, and the illustrations are once again superb.

Highly recommend.

He is dumpy and grumpy, he is old and bold, underneath his dagger-sharp quills is a warm-blooded heart…

It’s hard not to be bewitched by this guy, Ereth the porcupine, especially his unique communication style and his adventurous parenthood with three young foxes. The plotting and the dialogue are thumpingly fun, and the father fox is such great entertaining as well. What a wonderful reading time with my 9-year-old daughter this summer!

Sometimes life is unpredictable and may not seem to be the way we wanted, but gradually the mysteries will be revealed. Just be patient and smile.

An excellent little book for reading and re-reading with your kids.

Haven’t had this much fun with 30 square pages since I was 8!

The Mr. Men and Little Miss series has been such an inspiration to my

professional life that it was a joy to relive the fun with my young cousins.

I felt that it was time for my grandson to get familiar with the concept of reading – he just turned 3. He loves books and this one was about one of his favorite topics – Thomas the tank engine. We need to do more work before he is able to read, but it is a good start.

I like the ideas in the book, and they appear fairly simple to make. I look forward to trying some of them out. I do wish the book had a few more actual cake recipes.

Sandra Boynton is by far one of the best children’s book authors. Little Pookie books are fun to read and the kids just love them!
